Chapter 21
Inside the pottery studio, everything had finally calmed down.
Cassidy mechanically molded the clay in her hands, her knuckles white from pressure.
Lily sat quietly beside her, occasionally glancing at her with concern.
“Miss Cassidy…” the little girl finally couldn’t help asking, her bright eyes full of worry.
“Are you sad… you don’t look happy.”
Cassidy’s hands paused, forcing a smile: “I’m fine, Lily. Don’t worry about me. Keep making your little bowl.”
Wesley silently offered a glass of warm water, gently placing it beside Cassidy: “Would you like to take a break?”
She shook her head, her gaze falling on her half–finished clay bowl–the shape was crooked and uneven, much like her current emotions.
The images of Ethan and Emma’s tear–reddened eyes kept flashing through her mind, making her chest tighten.
“They… looked thinner,” she said softly, almost to herself.
Wesley didn’t respond, simply remaining quietly by her side.
Sunlight streamed through the glass window onto the workbench, giving Lily’s little bowl a soft glow under the light
“Uncle,” little Lily thought for a moment, suddenly suggesting: “Let’s make a gift for Miss Cassidy!”
Wesley gently ruffled his niece’s hair, saying softly: “That sounds wonderful. What would you like to make, Lily?”
‘A little house!” Lily exclaimed excitedly. “So… Miss Cassidy will have a new home!”
This innocent comment brought tears to Cassidy’s eyes.
Looking at the little girl seriously working with clay, and Wesley attentively guiding her, Cassidy suddenly realized
Without her noticing, these two people had become important parts of her life.
‘Lily,” she asked softly, “why do you want to make me a house?”
The little girl looked up, her eyes clear and honest:
“Because Miss Cassidy is sad. Uncle says home should be a happy place. I want to make you happy again.”
Cassidy’s eyes welled up once more.

Chapter 21
Wesley pushed his glasses up awkwardly, the tips of his ears turning slightly red: “Kids say the darndest things… Cassidy, please don’t be sad.”
“Thank you both,” Cassidy suddenly said, her voice somewhat choked, but she quickly smiled through her tears:
“Meeting you… has made me very happy.”
Lily immediately threw herself into Cassidy’s arms, her small hands tightly hugging her neck:
‘Miss Cassidy, can we stay together forever? Like a real family!”
Wesley’s hand froze in midair, clay slipping from his fingers.
His gaze met Cassidy’s, both blushing simultaneously..
‘Lily,” he gently admonished, “don’t pressure Miss Cassidy. She….”
‘It’s okay,” Cassidy smiled softly, stroking the little girl’s hair, her gaze toward Wesley gentle yet determined.
‘I’d be honored… to be part of your lives.”
30th pairs of eyes before her immediately brightened like twin pairs of stars.
Cassidy looked at the figures before her–one tall and one small–and couldn’t help smiling, the tightness in her chest gradually replaced by new emotions.
t was a sense of security she hadn’t experienced in a very long time.
