Nathaniel was stunned for a moment, then sighed long and deep. “It’s more like a shock! Change it back right now—this doesn’t look good for the school.”

When Nathaniel first heard that Sophia chose Computer Science, he had been feeling sad for quite some time. With her talent, she should have been working on scientific research. Even though Computer Science is good, he still thought it was a waste of her potential.
Sophia blinked and admitted, “Honestly? I just wanted to slack off.”
Nathaniel said, “Since you chose this major, you should really stick with it. Don’t waste your amazing talent.”
“Besides cybersecurity,” Sophia said, “I can do special effects, debugging, and Al. I even build combat robots–the kind that can both attack and defend.”
“Sadly, the armor on my current robots is still too weak,” Sophia sighed, looking worried. “They can handle basic fights, but if they face tougher enemies, one good hit and they’ll be scrap.”
Sophia said, “I’ll upgrade our school’s cybersecurity later. Unless someone’s better than me, no one can hack into it.”
Nathaniel thought, ‘Honestly, the shocks just keep coming today. Thank goodness I don’t have a weak heart, or I’d be having a heart attack right now.
Sophia grinned and said, “Nathaniel, if you don’t believe me, I can upgrade the school’s network security right now.”
Nathaniel held his chest, took a deep breath to calm down, and waved her away. “No, it’s okay. I trust you.”
Sophia really did a lot just to skip classes and homework. She was young and could almost be his granddaughter–Nathaniel couldn’t help but make one last suggestion. “Have you thought about changing your major?”
Sophia shook her head. “Not interested.”
“Sophia, how can you not be interested?” Nathaniel said, surprised. “You’re great at Math, Physics, and Chemistry–surely one of those things excites you?”
Sophia said, “You really don’t have to keep trying. I just don’t care about it.”
She thought, ‘My time is too valuable to waste. Honestly, the only reason I’m in college is because, after going through been a university student–so I just wanted to see what it’s like.‘

True to her word, as soon as Sophia got back to her dorm, she started upgrading Jelasburg University’s cybersecurity system, fixing bugs along the way.
Percival called Nathaniel again. “Nathaniel, did that hacker do this? You’ve got to tell me who it was. Stop hiding talent like that. I really need to meet this genius.”
Nathaniel sighed, “What has she done this time?”
Percival said, “She just fixed all the bugs in our network and even improved it.
“I tried to log in just now–damn it, I couldn’t get in. I called some of our best seniors, and none of them could break in either.
“Is this really the work of a student, Nathaniel? Come on, don’t joke around. With skills like that, why is she still a student? She should be teaching or joining the national research team.”
Nathaniel stayed quiet. Percival pressed him, “Come on, Nathaniel, say something. You’ve been hiding such a talented girl all this time?”
Nathaniel said with mixed feelings, “I’m afraid if I tell you, it might make you lose confidence and question yourself–so I better keep quiet.”
No one would guess this was all done by a freshman–someone who hasn’t even been to one class yet.
Percival was confused, but all he heard was the line going dead.
After fixing the bugs, Sophia suddenly remembered Larson Tech–Larson’s company–and decided to try one of their popular games.
She signed up with a random username. Once she was in, she wandered around, talked to NPCs, and explored a little, just to test the game. Noticing no obvious bugs, she logged out as casually as she had logged in.
Feeling pretty good today, Sophia decided to tease Jonathan a little. She texted him. Sophia wasn’t sure if Jonathan saw her message–he hadn’t replied -so she called the family maid.
The maid told her, “Mrs. Chandler hasn’t left
the house since she got back. Mr. Chandler said he’d bring a guest home and asked us to get dinner ready.”
Sophia chuckled, “Make some extra food–I’m coming home for dinner.”
‘Jonathan actually dared to bring Mireille home? Was he really that sure Heather wouldn’t cause a scene? Well, time to see the family drama unfold, Sophia thought.
Sophia didn’t dare take the subway again. She called a cab to go back. When she got inside, a sweet voice greeted her. “Jonathan, didn’t you promise to introduce me to Heather? It’s been so long–where is she?”
